Teller - Credit Union - Hauppauge, NY

We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and experienced individuals to be the “frontline” of our Credit Union as well as play an important role in achieving our member satisfaction. Primary Job Function: To assist our members with all financial transactions including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and account openings. Employee will be located in our Hauppauge location.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Service members in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments etc. as well as issuing teller checks and money orders
  • Opens and closes individual teller box; responsible for maintaining a balanced cash drawer
  • Opens accounts/CD’s
  • Assist members with account/loan questions
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with members while adhering to high service standards
  • Cross-sell credit union products to all members

Requirements:

  • Teller experience and/or customer service experience that includes heavy cash handling
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus **
  • Effective interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a high volume customer service environment
  • Familiarity in the use of a PC
  • Taking phone calls in a professional manner
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills

Branch Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:30 AM-4:00 PM / Fri 8:30 AM-6:00 PM / Sat 8:30 AM-2:00 PM (MUST be available on Saturday). Will work 5 days weekly. ***30-minute paid lunch daily.

Salary: $18-$20 per hour

Loan Processor

Are you ready to start a career with a stable and respected financial institution like ours? If so, please read on! People's Alliance Federal Credit Union has an open position for a Loan Processor available in our main branch in Hauppauge, NY. This job entails heavy phones, heavy internet use, in person member services and communication with members via phone or email.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Serve as the liaison between the borrower(s) and the underwriter on the loan application.
  • Organize and maintain the application for the loan by ensuring all relevant documentation is received and accessible for review. Ensure all loan processing activities comply with internal policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Verify all loan documentation and loan details are accurate and correct including the rate, term, monthly payment, loan amount and first payment due date.
  • Follow up with the borrower or dealer (as is appropriate) to collect any missing documentation on the loan.
  • Assist with the clearing of conditions on the loan.
  • Check to ensure there is no fraudulent activity on the loan by the borrower(s).
  • Ensure all relevant deadlines and turnaround times are met on the application by providing superior member service.
  • Fund the loan once all conditions on the loan are cleared and the borrower(s) have signed and return all of the relevant documentation on the loan including the loan note.
  • Ensure the loan details are correct and accurate in the Loan Origination and Core systems (Meridianlink and XP2).
  • Cross-sell the credit union’s other products and services as is appropriate.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements:

  • HS diploma required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Phone etiquette
  • Cross-sell PAFCU other products and services
  • Computer knowledge, MS Word, Excel, etc.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred

Branch hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4:30 pm / Friday 8:30am - 6:30 pm / Saturday 8:30am - 2:30pm. (Some Saturdays are required on a rotating schedule). **schedule may vary from week to week What we offer: Medical, vision and dental benefits after 30 days. Tuition reimbursement. 401K eligibility after 6 months, with company match. Take a day off for your birthday. The credit union is closed on all federal holidays with full pay. Salary: Hourly rate: $20-$23 hourly
